It looks like we are going to have a SNOW-FREE weekend in North and South Carolina. So, if you haven’t been out to patronize your favorite neighborhood gay bar or other gay owned businesses recently, this is going to be a good time to do just that. And there’s all kinds of fun happenings in the LGBTQ community this week. Petra’s in Charlotte is has The Dating Game tonight from 9 to 11pm; The Closet in Charlotte is having its Grand Opening Party tomorrow night with featured performer Amber; Club Cabaret in Hickory is hosting the Unlimited 2nd Chance Prom with the Unlimited Kings on Saturday night. Also on Saturday, Haritgan’s in Charlotte is celebrating Harti Gras, and the Asheville Angels will be performing at O. Henry’s in Asheville. Warehouse 29 is hosting the Miss NC Mardi Gras pageant on Sunday in Greensboro.

Those are just a few highlights. There’s always something happening in the gayborhood and you can always find someone to talk to, shoot pool with, or dance with; you just need to stop hibernating and get out on the town. Have fun but be safe!

What’s been going on in your gayborhood? If there is something new and/or noteworthy going on where you live in North or South Carolina that may be of interest or have an impact on the LGBTQ community, please let us know. If you’re favorite LGBTQ bar, restaurant or organization is planning something festive for St. Patrick’s Day, please let us know and we’ll help get the word out to the entire gayborhood. Just send us an email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Here are the fun happenings in the Carolinas this week and beyond...
